About Me
I have spent my life journeying with God with many pit stops, detours, and disasters of my own making along the way. I have enough years under my belt at this point that I can look back and see the faithfulness of God, His love and gentleness toward me, and His transformative work in my life. I'm not what I want to be, but I am not what I once was, and oh my, that is a good thing, phew. : )
I'm a follower of Jesus, I love my precious family and people, I'm a beach obsessed zookeeper, and a truth seeker, and I have a weird obsession with fruit and it's vibrant colors, haha. I'm just a girl (can you still be a girl at 50?) I say yes! A girl seeking after God and running after Him and all He has for me with big love, big joy, big fervor, in spirit and in truth. And like the psalmist David, I'm seeking for God to enlarge my heart.
I have spent my entire adult life working with teenagers. It's my favorite age of all humans. They have my heart forever. Whether it's
teaching Bible studies, teaching US History, teaching them how to surf, or just hanging out and mentoring, I consider working with teenagers my life's work, my favorite kind of work, the kind that isn't work at all.
I have my Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development, primarily because I just wanted to major in people, haha. I seriously love people and have an intense affinity for biographies. Everyone has a story worth telling. I am currently living with my husband Marty and our 16 year old daughter Bailey, our three Golden Retrievers; Chelsea, Maverick, and Sunshine, our cat Malibu, and our guinea pig Daisy. I wasn't kidding when I said zookeeper. We have 5 children total, 4 grown and married, and 10 of the most beautiful, adorable grandchildren.
Last, but certainly not least, I love writing. I love sharing my heart and connecting with people. I believe connection is what we were created for, to connect with God and then with each other. Life in a nutshell.
So, I've created this space for us (you + me) to connect, encourage, and build each other up in faith, in life, iron sharpening iron. To make us better, stronger, healthier, and happier. Looking forward to journeying together with you.
