Spirit and Truth
,The Holy Bible, God's Word, is and will remain the greatest book of all time. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the Bible out shines all others and has sold and distributed an estimated 5 billion copies. The king of #1 Best Sellers.
But we know that its value is not found within records, or how many copies have been sold, although that is telling of it's longevity. Its value is in the fact that it is living and breathing. It's the only book that is literally alive. In Hebrews 4:12 it says, "For the Word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow; it exposes our innermost thoughts and desires." In John 1:1, the Bible tells us that Jesus was the Word. That He is the Word. It was His Word that spoke everything into existence. The Bible is this same power. According to this verse it is Jesus. Aren't the mysteries of God fascinating and amazing? One of my favorite things about God is that He is limitless. You can go as deep as you want and never reach the end of His greatness. You never reach the end of His power, His love, His beauty. He is eternal and you can have as much of Him as you want. He offers Himself freely to us, though that freedom came at a great cost to Him.
God's Word, God's love letter to us-He speaks to us through it, transforms us, empowers us, encourages us, strengthens us and guides us through His Word. It is our lifeline in life. Just as we feed our bodies for optimal health with God's bountiful provisions, we also even more importantly need to feed our Spirit with God's Word, prayer, and communion with Him. As Christians, we all know this to be true. I'm not telling you anything new. But I believe we are living in a time where we need the Word of God more than ever before in our lifetime. We are living in a time of confusion where truth is seen as abstract, aggressive and even offensive. It seems like not too long ago the things of God were encouraged in our society, and I regret to say that this seems to be fading away at a record setting pace. We need Biblical truth reinforced in our life through study, through meditation on His Word, through communion with God and with each other. I don't know about you but I love to discuss, to ponder, and to think about the things of God. What He wants from me. What He has done, is doing, and is going to do. What Heaven is going to be like. And just His beauty and love. Really just seeking after Him in my heart and mind. This blog will be dedicated to discussing, meditating on and discovering sometimes deep, sometimes simple biblical truths. My hope and prayer is that it will serve as a guide and vehicle for personal growth in our walks with God. That we will be strengthened for the season of life we find ourselves in and that the outcome would be a loving, personal, victorious, God honoring, mission minded life of service to God and those He puts in our path. We have one life to live. Let's make it count. All for His glory.
